Service operator and contact

This notice describes the CareerCast CV and job-search workspace. For privacy inquiries, write to CareerCast at 982 Anther Avenue, Lotus Gardens, Pretoria, South Africa.

Information we keep

Your sign-in identifier and account email, uploaded CV and supporting documents, extracted CV text, optional contact details and job preferences, permissions, application drafts and activity records. Trial and payment records are separate from CV content.

How we use it

To read your CV, suggest relevant roles, prepare application materials, manage your workspace and track application progress. When a sending connection is available and you authorize a particular submission, the chosen information and documents can be transmitted to the named employer. CareerCast does not invent missing personal information.

Providers and sharing

ChatGPT provides sign-in. Cloudflare hosts the service and its data storage. English image-scan recognition runs in your browser using OCR files served by CareerCast. Job feeds provide vacancies; your CV is not sent to those feeds.

Authorized email delivery and opt-in incoming replies use Resend. Selected materials are sent only to the recipient confirmed by the candidate. PayFast handles payment entry on its own checkout when enabled; this workspace does not collect card numbers. Employers and external platforms have their own privacy practices.

Storage and access

Private workspace routes require sign-in and server-side ownership checks. Ordinary users cannot access another account’s records through their own account. Service operators and infrastructure providers may have operational access. We do not use your CV for advertising or sell it through this service.

Retention and your choices

Your CV and profile remain available across visits until you replace or remove them. Trial expiry does not automatically erase your history. You can download your records, replace your CV, change preferences and withhold application permission.

The “Your information & privacy” controls in your signed-in workspace let you remove CV files, supporting documents, saved profile details and application history from active storage. Login, trial and payment records remain; this is not complete account deletion and does not cancel a subscription. Infrastructure backups follow the hosting provider’s retention practices. We cannot recall employer-held or previously downloaded copies.

Recruiter replies

Once a receiving service is configured, applications can use a unique CareerCast reply address. Replies are retrieved from the email provider and stored in the candidate’s private workspace. Sender, subject and plain-text body are retained with the application. No HTML resources or attachments are loaded automatically. Categories are suggestions and no response is automatically sent. CV data removal also removes stored replies from active app storage; provider-held copies are governed by its retention settings.

Current service limits

Automatic job-board submissions, automatic outgoing replies and live payment collection are not active. Reviewed email applications and opt-in recruiter reply storage are configured. The service currently supports CV reading, discovery, application preparation and progress tracking. It does not guarantee applications, interviews or employment.

Mobile installation

The installable web app caches only its public offline notice and icons. It does not cache CVs, account pages, private API responses or payment traffic for offline access.
